Sylvester's Story! The Forgotten Vigilante

Author's Notes:

You may wonder who Skyhawk is. He's shown up with the Powernaut in stories as early as 2008. Powernaut 2006 will reveal how he started working with the Powernaut. Ooh, does he look slimy? Could be... But does he have a secret identity? Not after hanging out with the Powernaut!

The guest character Doc Nostalgia has his own history. And it doesn't even reconcile with Doc Nostalgia's history from last month's Powernaut comics. So I don't presume to reconcile it with the history of every other character who's ever met Doc Nostalgia or the Powernaut. Let's just say, the friends of the Powernaut are going to have a hard time finding evidence of Doc Nostalgia or his friends after this adventure. Fractal history with multiple foci, dont'cha know. Plus, people forget things, as will soon be revealed. Heh, time is pointy. (Thank you Andrew P. for that observation.)

The correspondent Sylvester Morrow is a returning character. He got journalist credits at least as early as 2004; in that year he was the first World Journal Monthly journalist to get his work published at Eilertech.com. He's finding, to his personal discomfort, that successful newspapers now make most of their money off podcasts. So he has to do the Doc Nostalgia interview on camera.

The correspondent Bruce Klybourn is entering the strip. Why yes, he looks kind of like a human-sized koala. And yes, there is a Doom Koala of Speed in the Powernaut's universe. Coincidence, or...?

D.C. = District of Columbia, home of the City of Washington. M.P.D.C. = Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia. I'm amazed I've never heard the term M.P.D.C. before. It's necessary to the story, but I don't see a good way to put a definition in. Hopefully the context will define it.

Oooh, this series has an actual team-up! Oh, did I skip the Fight Each Other Before Teaming Up stage? Why yes I did. For this story, that would only have gotten in the way.

This series leads back to the first story I ever posted for an audience to review: The Forgotten Vigilante! I posted the story to rec.arts.comics.creative on good old Usenet on 15 June 2009. I keep my own version of the story, of course.
